I was listening to this song from NoFX and can't for the life of me figure out what it's about? I know it talks about a lot of political issues and the gist is more or less anti-conservative (issues) but some of it seems a little on the pro side. I've seen the video so I do have that as reference to.

It's a song about how most Americans live in a self-contained bubble, not caring about anything else going on in the world. The line with "I don't want to be another 'I-dont'-care-ican'" basically sums up the entire song.
I'm not a big NoFX fan. I think they're too far on the left end of the spectrum for me. The same reason why I don't watch FOX News.

They made a video? I am so disappointed in NOFX. It is probably their 10th or so as far as I know, I don't keep up with them much anymore. I have always taken it as a bit of a sarcastic song. Mocking both sides in a way, although still anti-republican/conservative.

NOFX to far left? haha. Guess you don't listen to much Propaghandi eh? I have always had a hard time taking NOFX's political stuff too seriously, they just aren't that good at it to me. Not enough bite. And though Illike this sing, Franco Un-American is kind of a good example.

Sorry if I sound like a troll, but people still make music videos? And what channel do they come on? And how do people see them? Is there some new music video channel that people sit and watch all the time? Do people luck out and happen to catch music videos between TV shows on the Trio network or something? Admittedly, I don't watch a lot of TV, but if I wanted to see a music video, I'd have no idea where to find it on my television. How do people do it?

MTV2 used to show videos only, now they are slowly moving away from that too. If you want videos, I guess you can go to FUSE, VH1 Classics, or the country one. I don't think you would find this video on TV. If they did then I would point and laugh at NOFX for being big dumb ass munchers. They say MTV used to ask them to make videos for them all the time, but they told them to fuck off.

Well, here in the Philippines, we still get most of the the music videos that come out. We have 5 Channels that feature MTV's: MYX, MTV-Asia, MTV-Philippines, Channel[V], and Channel[V]-Philippines.

ETV really doesn't play music anymore.
I mean MTV. But they should be Entertainment Television, at this point. |

I hate most "political" songs, even if I agree with their politics. Check out The Shins "So Says I" for how to do a "political" song the right way. I highly recommend looking up a James Mercer solo version of it on Soulseek.

NOFX Fun Fact: They got their name from an old boston band Negative Fx.
I wish more people knew who Negative Fx were than NOFX. |
