Just came back from watching Shoot 'Em Up...
Nice action flick to end the summer with.
I still stand by the fact that Clive Owen would have made a better James Bond than Daniel Craig. Every scene tried to top off the gruesomeness and unbelievability of the previous one. Paul Giamatti kicks ass as a bad guy.

Giamatti was a good bad guy in Private Parts.

i wanted clive owen to be bond, too. but to me, children of men + shoot em up > the last bond
shoot em up was a really fun movie - it knew exactly what it was that and crank have started a new genre of action flicks. the over-the-top, get into the plot within 2 minutes uber action genre. needs a better name though. |

It was kick ass. Mindless action, bad one liners, bullets flying like planes taking off from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport... you just have to go in knowing what it was. It never took itself seriously and was actually a pretty nice parody/homage.
I even bought some carrots at the store today .

"You know what I hate..."
And you know it's going to be a fucking bloodfest the next scene.

Man, when he said that to the guy who wouldn't signal, I was thinking... wow... I've always wanted to do that .

Anyone notice that he was driving BMW's all the way through?
Does Owen have a solid contract with BMW (specially after doing the Driver series for them)?

Remember that Ameritrade ad from a couple of year ago? The one that has the ridiculous action movie and the title was something like BLOW'D UP. That's kind of what this one looks like in the previews to me.

I have no desire to see this, and I consider myself a pretty big Clive Owen fan.
