Chris Johnson vs Usain Bolt Race for Charity

I love Chris Johnson and I think in a 50-60 yard dash it isn't crazy to think he can beat Bolt. Anything longer then that is obviously going to be a death wish but as the story goes, his first 40 or so is faster then what Bolt ran when he broke his record:

Chris Johnson and Usain Bolt are working on a race
This figures to be a busy week with meaningful NFL stories breaking around the clock with lasting impact felt in the league. This is not one of those stories.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that representatives of Usain Bolt and Titans running back Chris Johnson have been working together in recent days to set up race for charity to determine the world's fastest human being.

The competition is not as one-sided as you'd think. Our buddies at NBC Olympics broke down Bolt's world record 100 meter time from Beijing games, and Bolt's 40 meter split was actually a hair slower than Johnson's 40 time at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Then again, Bolt is well known as a slow starter. He would destroy Johnson at any distance longer than 50 meters or so.

Johnson knows this, and wants the race at 60 meters or less. Bolt would like it longer.

they should just do 2 races or something. Not as catchy though.

I think it has more to do with the timing at the scouting combine being full of shit than Johnson being faster than Bolt in the 40.

It's possible, but I don't think there is anyone faster in the NFL in straight line speed then Johnson. If there is I haven't see him.

Obviously CJ is going to lose but if its just a 40 or 50 yard sprint, he has a legitimate shot because Bolt usually dominates the last half of a race. CJ is going to start fast I'd imagine.

But Johnson was running 40 yards, not meters. Right?

I have to admit I wasn't sure of the conversion myself, so I just googled it.

1 yard = 0.9144 meters

Pick Johnson's longest run of the season and have them race that distance.

They should run it in football pads.

Yeah, it's not a huge difference, but it still seems sloppy for them to write it like that.

I will wager a 100K donation to the human fund that this race never happens.

Bolt is better in the second half of races because he leaves something in the tank. If he goes all out from the start he kills Johnson at any distance.

NFL MVP Brandon Jacobs would WASTE Usain Bolt at any distance.

Patrick Willis chased him down from behind twice in the 49er-Titan game. Just sayin'... Disclaimer: I do not truly believe that Patrick Willis is faster than Chris Johnson.

The best way to do it would be to do the best 2 out of 3 distances, 40, 60, and 80.

I think both guys should just run at full speed until one of them falls over. The one who's still standing is the winner. Also, get them to trade horses.

No way is anyone faster tn that cat at least in the NFL. It is very apparent watching him in a game that the guy has another or two that no one else does. That being said I think anything more than 50 yards/meters whatever and Johnson would get smoked by Bolt.
