FOFC Dungeon Crawl Ladder
Let's start an FOFC Dungeon Crawl ladder (AKA high score list)! Not meant to be a competition limited by class, character or time, any and all characters welcome, it's just a place to dump your dead dudes. The more the better. How do you make a ladder entry? Like so:
1) Your post must begin with the ENTIRE ladder, copied from the last ladder post in the thread, including your new character slotted appropriately according to score, and bolded, for easy reference. 2) Your entry to the ladder must be copied directly from the second line of text in your character's morgue file, followed by a dash, and your FOFC user name. Example: 164 Sammy Hagar the Skirmisher (level 4, 0/38 HPs) - thesloppy. The number at the beginning of the line is your score, and should be used to slot your entry on the ladder. 3) After the ladder, you must include the entirety of your character's morgue file. In Win 7 you can find your morgue in %appdata%/Crawl/morgue ('Run' from the Start menu, or by holding the windows key and 'R'). If you're not using Win 7, I can't help you, but a search for 'morgue' would be a good start. Sort the directory by 'date modified' and look for the most recent .txt file to find your most recent dead buddy. Copy and paste the entirety of the .txt file (NOT the .lst or .map files) into your post. 4) Please only enter one character at a time, to avoid confusion and mixups. Also feel free to re-post a character if the ladder gets mixed up, and/or skips you somehow. Once you've taken care of the ladder and you morgue file in the beginning of your post, feel free to tell as much of a (sob) story as you'd like. I'll start with my most recent (crappy) dude, from a couple days ago as soon as I make this first post, to give us something to start from and serve as a formatting example. What in thee hell is a Dungeon Crawl, and just what do you think you guys are going to do with that ladder? Crawl Wiki.

FOFC Dungeon Crawl Ladder
--------------------------- 217 Lionel Richie the Sneak (level 4, 0/30 HPs) - thesloppy Quote:
Sigh. Poor Lionel. Party? Fiesta? Forever? NO! The white hot surprise of a dog-man's electrical whip was Lionel's only reward in the dungeon. He was absolutely nothing special, he hadn't found anything of note, and that whip put a right quick end to him.

Well, uhhh......that's just embarrassing. Stupid gnolls. How am I supposed to defeat a +0, +0 club? I'm not a god.

FOFC Dungeon Crawl Ladder
--------------------------- 2063 Non-Dairy Creamer the Slicer (level 9, 0/64 HPs) - thesloppy 217 Lionel Richie the Sneak (level 4, 0/30 HPs) - thesloppy 139 Gary Sharone the Sneak (level 3, -2/25 HPs) - thesloppy Quote:
NDC spent most of his later life furiously on the run, and he ultimately met his death trying to heal up in a watery corner of the 10th level of the dungeon, when an electric eel casually waltzed up and shocked the shit out of him from a distance. NDC could do nothing but jerk in the waves. He actually came across a bunch of good stuff, relatively speaking....he also came across a bunch of bad stuff, which prevented him from wearing some of the good stuff. He was perhaps most hampered by a surprising lack of scrolls. At least he didn't get killed by a stupid gnoll.

Is this just recent run or more of an all time best run kind of thing? I have old morgues that were rather high, but I noticed yours are all recent runs from this week.

Feel free to dump in just your best old score if you like. Mainly I just thought a Crawl ladder would be a nice place to dump any Crawl characters/stories, since that's what half of the 'Angband' thread was mutating into, and as long as we were collecting 'em, might as well put 'em in a ladder too.
Personally, I'll likely just use it to just dump my recent dead characters in.....and considering my playing abilities, it doesn't much matter whether I use my 'best' of the last ten years, or just the next dude I roll up, but if those of you with loads actual good characters wanna dump in your historical bests it's certainly fine with me. The more and the deader the better.

A new personal best for me.
500370 Sneaky the Spry (level 27, -1/174 (178) HPs) Began as a Halfling Assassin on Aug 28, 2011. Was the Champion of Kikubaaqudgha. Splashed by acid (5 damage) ... on Level 5 of the Pits of Slime on Sept 4, 2011. The game lasted 21:42:49 (146294 turns).

500,000! Nice! I don't think I've ever had any dude above 30,000. At least seeing you break 500,000 isn't as humiliating as when new people who have never played Crawl trickle into the competitions and beat my best ever scores.
