On Topic: saving FOF2
I have a question maybe someone can help me with. I'm getting a new computer. My old one, which I'm giving to my dad, has FOF2 and FOF2001 on it. Somehow, FOF2001 got deleted. I, of course, don't have the paperwork, so I guess it's gone forever. I also don't have the original paperwork (as in order #s, etc) for FOF2, but it is still on the hard drive. I want to put them on my new computer. Any suggestions, or is it simply time to buy FOF4 so I'll always have a disk to play whenever I want?
thanks all!! |

Obviously FOF2 has to be relicensed on the 'new' machine.

I lost my copies of FOF2 and FOF2001 a long time ago. Rather than deal with the e-license mess, I just went ahead and bought FOF4.

Is FOF4 as good as FOF2?
I couldn't save FOF2, particularly because digital river (or whoever) stopped supporting it, even for those of us who paid for it. Sucks, too, because FOF2's brilliant. It's what hooked me on sports sims--try playing three seasons in a night in CM... Is 4 worth opening the wallet again? 2001 certainly wasn't... |

I've enjoyed every version I've ever bought, so I'm probably not much of an objective witness. It took a little while to get used to the FOF4 interface, but most of the changes and improvements are definately worth the money.

I thought this was one of those petition threads ...

i just got a new computer, and had to relicense fof2 and fof2001, with no paperwork at all. it took a little while, but i was able to get both games reinstalled on the new comp from downloads online. i used the links on solecismic.com to get started, and then when fof2 became troublesome, enlisted jims help to get me in touch with the right people to relicense the game. i had no info on them at all, just my name (didnt even have the right credit card info)....but then, thats why companies keep records.
bottom line - you bought the game, you dont have to lose it just because you are getting a new computer. |

Just saying the words "Gold Edition" sounds cool. I would love a FOF5 - Gold Edition. Todd |
