Get Barry a Ring -- Another FOF9 Dynasty, starting 1988

Title says it all. We're starting at the Lions in 1988, and the plan is to make sure Barry Sanders wins at least one Super Bowl. Side goal of getting him at least one season of 2000 rushing yards.

If you're an astute reader, you may be saying "Passacaglia you dolt! Barry Sanders doesn't start playing in the NFL until 1989! You've screwed up the whole thing from the beginning!" Well, you're right, and you're wrong. Yes, Barry Sanders does start in 1989, but I have not screwed it all up. Starting in 1988 is intentional.

In 1988, the Lions fired head coach Daryl Rogers, and replaced him with Defensive Coordinator Wayne Fontes. For the 1989 season, Fontes hired June Jones and Mouse Davis to run the offense, bringing in the "run and shoot" offense. I don't want this. I don't want my roster to have like 10 WRs and no TEs, especially since FOF makes me have 3 active as a minimum. I also don't want these coaches. My coach file has their philosophy as "spread" since run and shoot isn't a choice. And look, in the 90s, I was a believer in the run and shoot, and I think it could work, especially with a back like Barry. But you have to run more than you shoot, and I don't think that's going to happen with a spread coach in FOF unless I call plays, which I don't want to do. And most likely, the coaches you start the game with on your team are not the best and need to be replaced immediately. Starting in 1988 gives me a chance to have a better roster and better coaches in place by the 1989 draft -- I'll just need to make sure I can draft Barry. Might take a trade, and I'm willing to close without saving and reload if I need to.

You may also be thinking, "Passacaglia, what are you doing? You already have a dynasty!" Well, that dynasty is going to continue still, but probably slower. It annoyed me that FOFC was down, and I couldn't post screenshots, and didn't want to continue until I did. So my goal is a new dynasty that allows for more playing than posting (I figure maybe once a season or something), and gets more active participation from others -- I think the last dynasty has just one reply, and it would be great if we could get more chatter in this one.

In the spirit of getting chatter, I'm open to suggestions. Things I can do to make this easier, restrictions that would make it harder, or things to make it more fun. Although I'm obviously a Lions fan, I'm even open to doing this with another team (which is also possible since we're starting in 1988) if that might make it more fun.
