I decided today to start posting for my Madden 21 campaign with the Jaguars in X&O online league.
X&O is an online PS4 league, it used to be named 10YF and to run from OS but like a lot of leagues it is now mostly driven from phone apps. It is still a "non switch" league with a group of users who have been around since Madden 17. We play with a solid set of rules which make roster management interresting. I will ahve eventually time to dig into that.
My Madden online carrer started with Madden 04 but I am not ready for retirement yet.
I used to play Jaguars from Madden 16 to Madden 18 in the glory days of Gus Bradley (i am a real fan of Gus). Then Jaguars became a power house, so I moved to Buffalo and then Detroit. After two years of non productive Madden (i was not really into it) i have now (again) fun playing madden with 21 opus.
I am back to my local beloved team the Jaguars which, again, are at the bottom of league talent wise.
We are in the first off season so time to just go through the process...
The Jaguars entered the off season Free Agency with only two starters, HB Chrs Thompson, and DT Tim Jernigan enterring free agency.
With 86M of salary cap room, the Jaguars focused early on signing Xfactor and high abilities veterans looking to shakeup a very young team.
Chris Simmons has been added to a secondary which got depleted on past two seasons.
Coming from Superbowl winnner Ravens Chris Harrison Sr and former Redskins icon Ryan Kerrigan have been added with the aim to help bouncing back a defense which struggled in the trenches.
And invested in versatile Cordarelle Patterson in the backfield. patterson seems to be able to doi everything including returning punts in a franchise still orphan of missed Shane Wynn.
Then with the scouting combine results, Jaguars felt the time to separate from TE Tyler Eifert who suffered a hip and calf strecht at the end of the season. Eifert who caught 57 passes and scored 8TDs is the only signifiant contributor lost by the Jaguars during the off season.
On the other hand Jaguars then focused to add depth and contributors to their roster.
Coming off Chargers, QB Tyrod Taylor reunited with Coach Mac. Taylor was a starter for Mac in the Madden 18 campaign.
Former Rams 8th overall selection Tavon Austin convinced Jaguars to give him a try, he could help in some 11 personnel packages.
Ameer Abdullah leaving NFC North to try rejuvenate his carreer in a team in big need of tailbacks.
Vincent Taylor signed from Miami is expected to bring finesse rushing skills while former Packers and Bills Trent Murphy has been added to backup Kerrigan.
jaguars as well convinced WR James who had a convincing season in 2020 after getting picked from Ravens practice squad and former 3rd round selection Dawuane Smoot to return to Jacksonville.
