Athing Mu is a special runner. She can get that WR easy. She has one of the best strides I’ve seen.

Not exactly Michael Johnson but both have a beautiful stride to watch.

I heard the exact opposite. Apparently some were happy the US lost for some reason. Sounds like it's the "end of an era" for this team?

But Canada vs Sweden will be good. Sweden lost in the gold medal game at the last Olympics, and Canada won bronze each of the last 2 times (both times they lost in the semis to the eventual gold medal winner). Now one is guaranteed to win gold.


The mens 200m finals is going to be great. 3 Americans and 2 Canadians make up 5/8 of the finalists. Lyles for the US almost cost himself the finals. He held up at the end in the semis when he thought he won and finished 3rd in one of the closest 3 way finishes you'll ever see. Luckily for him he had the best qualifying time among non top 2 finishers in any semis.

DeGrasse maybe shouldn't do 100m again. I know he and Bolt went head to head before, but DeGrasse starts off bad and finishes better than anyone. That feels more like a 200m and 400m runner than a 100m one. He goes from 5th to 1st halfway through a race.

DeGrasse pulls out the gold!

In one of the events dominated by Bolt for 3 Olympics, it's the person who finished with a silver next to Bolt at the last one who wins gold this time

Now the relay with a major shocker/upset.

USA doesn't even qualify for the finals of the 4x100 mens relay! This makes 4 straight times they won't win a medal in the relay.

And for the Decathlon, Canada has never won gold or silver, but now they're on pace to set the world record in this one!

Canadian female athletes put the male athletes to shame. They've dominated Canadas medal count. I know Canada isn't high up on the medal rankings, but I wonder where they rank among female medalists.


As for the mens 4x100, talk about shocking. Not only was USA not in the finals, but the faves in Jamaica didnt even medal either. Italy surprised everyone and won by 0.01 seconds. At least Canada got bronze, though they badly need others besides DeGrasse on the team. He carries them so much.
