I know jack **** about the Rams and Falcons history. All I remembered is that they were pretty good in the late 80's with Henry Ellard and Flipper Anderson at WR, Everett was the trigger man, so I gave him the edge.

Re: Just for fun: Legends QB

Ok, I'll take a shot at this by team, off the top of my head...trying for a combination of good player & not too obscure

Bills - Jim Kelly
Dolphins - Dan Marino
Jets - Joe Namath
Patriots - Steve Grogan

Colts - Johnny Unitas
Texans - QB Houston #8
Jaguars - Brunell is still active, so no idea
Tennessee - Warren Moon

Browns - Bernie Kosar
Steelers - Terry Bradshaw
Ravens - no idea
Bengals - Boomer Esiason

Chiefs - Len Dawson
Broncos - John Elway
Chargers - Dan Foutes
Raiders - Ken Stabler

Cowboys - Troy Aikman
Redskins - Joe Theisman
Giants - Phil Simms
Eagles - Randall Cunningham

Bears - Jim McMahon
Vikings - Fran Tarkenton
Packers - Bart Starr (or Brett Favre if he retires before this game were to come out)
Lions - ...not sure

Bucs - Doug Williams
Falcons - Steve Bartkowski
Saints - Archie Manning
Panthers - QB Panthers (best choice would be Kerry Collins)

Rams - Roman Gabriel
49ers - Joe Montana or Steve Young, whichever
Cardinals - no clue
Seahawks - Jim Zorn or Dave Kraig

..and given that the teams in this game wouldn't neccessarily be exact NFL ripoffs, you could do some shuffling of a few players for bigger names. Like KC could get Montana and San Francisco gets Young, Baltimore gets Johnny U and Indy gets stuck with a Jeff George, or whatever.

if not, then several guys should be on the cover and back cover.

with legends, some video game buyers would not even know who fouts is. their legend repitoire goes all the way back to favre.

(yes, i know he is still playing. its sarcasm.)

Re: Just for fun: Legends QB

I'd like to see 2K Sports offer a cover "template" and a selection of Legends photos. Choose your favorite player and print out a cover. Or put your own photo in and print that (for a more... modern game ).

Might as well have a customizable cover for a custom game, right?

BTW, one of the football cards companies has a series called "Legends" that has classic football players. It might mean 2k has to find another name for their game - or work out a deal with the card company. Not a huge deal, as they can call it "2K Sports Football" though "Legends" has a nice appeal.

Re: Just for fun: Legends QB

I would see them taking the most recent player justifiably possible. Sure, there were a ton of great QB's in the 60s and 70s, and a lot that probably were more valuable to their franchise, but the number of 50+ Y/o gamers is much smaller than 50- y/o.. at least for now.

AFC East:
Buffalo - Jim Kelly
Miami - Dan Marino
New England - Jim Plunkett (shuffling from Raiders/9ers)
New York Jets - Joe Namath

AFC North
Baltimore - Trent Dilfer
Cleveland - Bernie Kosar
Cincinnati - Boomer Esiason
Pittsburgh - Terry Bradshaw

AFC South
Indianapolis - Johnny Unitas
Houston - Sammy Baugh (borrowed from the Oilers.. where he coached.. lol)
Jacksonville - Mark Brunell (when he's done.. i.e.: now)
Tennessee/Houston - Warren Moon

AFC West
Denver - John Elway
Kansas City - Joe Montanta (Shuffle)
Oakland - Ken Stabler
San Diego - Dan Fouts

NFC East
Dallas - Troy Aikman
New York Giants - Phil Simms
Philadelphia - Randall Cunningham
Washington - Joe Theisman

NFC North
Chicago - Jim McMahon
Detroit - Bobby Lane
Minnesota - Fran Tarkenton
Green Bay - Bart Starr/Brett Favre (he may play forever, you know)

NFC South
Atlanta - Chris Miller
Carolina - Steve Beuerlein
New Orleans - Archie Manning
Tampa Bay - Doug Williams

NFC West
Arizona - Neil Lomax
St. Louis - Norm Van Brocklin
San Francisco - Steve Young
Seattle - Dave Krieg

Re: Just for fun: Legends QB

I like Radja's idea about regional placement or maybe giving a select number of stores certain covers. That would add a nice flavor to the mix.

As far as a name, I was thinking "Legends of the Game" or "Grid Iron Legends"
