Stadium License?

Do the stadiums control their own license or is that held by the NFL? Having all the real life stadiums would be nice. I would think you could use soldier field as long as you licensed it from the city/owner and the NFL could do nothing about it.

Re: Stadium License?

not many stadiums are owned by individual cities anymore. Franchises have leveraged themselves to where they either own it or hold the exclusive lease for like 99 years.

lol.

Re: Stadium License?

If this were a baseball game, I would consider the stadium issue a big deal. But I don't think so much with football.

Infact this might be the only area were a fictional world could be better. It might be cool to have the NY teams playing in a stadium next to the Empire State Building. You could send the Rams back outdoors with the Arch in the background. The Redskins could play under the shadow of the Washington Monument, and lets move the Bills down the road to play at Niagara. As an old timer, I would also like seeing the Vikings back outdoors with the cold and the mud.

I will probably get thrashed for this post.

Actually, Cardot, I like your thinking.

Re: Stadium License?

I like his ideas as well. Theres not a lot of nuances absolute to a football stadium. So much of the screen is directly related to the grass/turf it doesn't matter as much.

Not at all. That's a great way to implement an atmosphere that EA hasn't even touched. Using the next gen graphics with the kind of stuff pregame that 2k5 touched on would be great.

Throw in unique stadiums and well known landmarks. Hopefully this will school EA on how to do presentation right.
