My opinion on All Pro Football...

I believe my post was taken in the wrong context, i know he doesnt believe that, however EA said the same thing 2k is saying, this is a new game on a new console, the fact is, How hard would it be to port over the coding for a franchise mode, and remove the espn and nfl stuff. Bottom line is on next gen, EA and 2k are both guilty of not putting existing features from previous games on to the next gen games. this new game new console stuff doesnt apply.

I totally disagree with you on the 2k part. Again, VC is doing something totally new, not porting over anything, so they are not leaving anything out.

I just dont understand how anyone can have a strong opinion, one way or another, about this game when there is barely enough information to gather one. Sure, we can base prelimanariy opinions off of the fact that there is no NFL license and no franchise mode. So I can understand how someone is turned off by those facts alone....but, to say "the gameplay will make this game great" is ridiculous. We have no idea about the gameplay. All we know is the gameplay of 2k5 and I just dont think that is enough to warrant a statement of gratification for All Pro 2k8. So lets wait and see on this.

i guess my point is aside from ea leaving out its franchise mode they also left out gameplay elements and control elements, you couldnt do as much as you could in madden on the regular xbox. madden 360 was a whole new game as well. it wasnt ported, people would have been much happier if it were. so i do think my statement of 2k pulling an ea by stripping out the franchise, but what i believe more is that they self admittedly made a stupid move. they wanted legends, but in an interview with greg thomas he said a franchise mode didnt fit into the plans they had for this game. I think it was a dumb plan. Now i personally have no attachment to franchise mode, but i see the draw to it, and i know many people love it. they should have made a way for one of their most coveted modes to be but in a "do or die" title for the series as far as sales go. because if sales arent good for this game, thats probably gonna be it for 2k football. I dont want to see this happen i want to see great football games in the future

They talk about focusing on gameplay, even going into some detail about this as well as new animations. They talk about an approach to gameplay that should bring personality that all sports games could use. It's stated that they had to choose what to focus on, and this is part of the reason that they didn't work on a franchise mode for this game. I guess you think that's a stupid plan but I'd rather play with only 2 teams in a game that can pull off what they seem to be trying to than average gameplay and a franchise on par with 2k5's.

I understand being upset that franchise is included but presented in an either/or situation as stated, I'm happy with the choice they made.
