This is purely speculation, but I think (unfortunately) that it is also very true. This year's version of E3 will be held in Santa Monica from July 11th to the 13th, and APF2K8 will make an appearance.

Logically, it would only be on display at E3 prior to its release date. Also, how soon after the expo would it be released? From past experience, it's rare that you see a game at E3 that is very soon to be released. Personally, I think we might see it in August.

Maybe it was rare to see a game almost done because usually E3 was in May and none of the Football games are completed at that time.

The game will be released that following week we've been told. July 16th it ships so it should be in stores the 17th.

I feel you but this applys to Ncaa also and they'll also be there at this years version of E'3 and releasing the following week also. So AP2k8 will just be showing off the final product for some more attention

I'm pretty sure we've seen games at previous E3's that had already released, or just released. I think the reason we rarely saw games release soon after E3 is because May-August had been notoriously slow for major game releases. Forza 2 is sort of bucking that trend this year, but outside of movie game tie-ins there haven't been a lot of high profile games released late spring/summer
