Accelerated Clock!

I don't know if anyone caught this, but in the Q&A, listed under the game options, there is an option to turn on/off accelerated clock!!!!

I don't remember 2k games ever having this option. It was a Madden option if I recall. Madden took it out a few years back and it has never returned since. This is a welcomed addition to 2k for me!!! I love the accelerated clock in Madden and I hope it works well in 2k!

Anyone else excited about the return of A.C. in 2k?

Actually if I recall I think it was said in the chat that it WASN'T in the game. But I could be wrong, if you have the transcript.

In the Q&A steve put up, he specifically mentions AC is in.

I believe it was in 2K5, can't remember though. Even though I used it sparingly, it's nice to know that the feature is there.

How does the accelerated clock work? I've never experienced it before (atleast knowingly) in a football game except for Tecmo Bowl where a 5 minute quarter was really about a 2 minute quarter.

Does the clock run at an accelerated speed for the entire game? If so, what about as time nears the end of a QTR/Half? It seems this would really change the 2 minute drill to a 3 or 4 minute drill?

Does it just skip time between plays? Maybe you break the huddle with 25 seconds left and get to the line with 10 seconds?

If it just speeds up the game clock, what is the point? I understand that it allows you to play full length quarters at a faster pace, but wouldn't you accomplish the same thing by playing 5 or 6 minute quarters as opposed to 15? I mean, there are not really any time based stats in football, except for TOP, but is there anything else I'm missing? Maybe lenth of time eaten up by a drive.

I'd appreciate any info you guys have.

2k5 did not have this.

Can you simulate to the end, say if you get a good lead and want to finish the game with sim. I loved that in the 2K5 game.

I've always wanted this in 2k football games. They have always had the "Sim to End" option, but never the accelerated clock. Now we should be able to up the quarter times and still be able to get a full game in less than 30 minutes or more.
