I use Rathman as well, blocking for Marcus Allen. Better than a generic blocker and he can catch passes.

Whenever I use Emmitt, moose is my lead blocker, just has to be.

Another Emmitt and Moose user here.

And to answer your question, I tried creating teams with and without Johnston, and my running game on the teams with Johnston has been much better (even when I pick legend OLs and not Moose).

I swapped out Rathman for a generic FB and used the star on a TE that can catch over the middle and is a possession receiver. I changed the oline from balanced to run oriented and torched the team I just played for 275 rushing yards with Earl Campbell. I'm going to move up to all pro and try it a few more times before I decide to finalize the change.

Co-sign Moose and Rathman. Rathman has sneaky hands and can be a good secret weapon in the passing game, and Moose is capable of scooting a bit with the ball in addition to paving the way for your tailback (I had a 40-yard run with him online against my bro, haha). Anyway, I think the fullback is an imortant supplement to your legend linemen, because there's always going to be a backer free, and you want to make sure you've got a talented guy to put a hat on him.

I have Rathman on a team with Sayers running behind him...Sayers is fun to run with man. Sometimes he breaks off a big one without me realizing what I did.
Also that breakaway speed is true, if you tap a fast enough, anyone that is behind Sayers is too far away.

I also spend a gold on Bob Brown, a gold tackle.

So yeah, the whole offense is based off Sayers getting to the outside and making some game breaking plays.

Rathman blocks really well, he gets the exxtra guy that comes for Sayers nearly all the time.
