Re: Cheese Poll
Good points, ODogg and slthree. I think that when plays or tactics work against an opponent in clutch situations, and especially if they work more than once in a game, then the person on the losing end of things tends to feel that those plays or tactics are cheese. Screens and swings, corner routes, legend pass rushers, cadences, clutch quarterbacks--all of these can feel like "cheese" because they do amazing things at opportune times, however, I don't think they are cheese because with the right strategy and a little luck, all of these things can be countered or mitigated, even if not completely checked. I think the most helpful definition of cheese is something in the game that can't be stopped period and has no risk to go along with the reward. I've seen the cadence thing backfire and result in false starts myself, so I don't think it qualifies. As much as I hate playing Earl, I don't even think using him is cheese; it's just a really tough predicament for the defense, which has to gamble between getting bodies in the box and getting beat deep.
That said, I respect your opinion, Muggins, and acknowledge that we all have different definitions of "sim," "mature," "cheese," and the like. I just happen to see this issue a bit differently.
