Its Great When Generic Players Step Up

Ever had a situation where you are shutting down one side of the field, so the offense has to change strategy and try to pass on the "legend" free area and then your generic gets an int.

SWEET!

Now thats teamwork!

I played my first 4 online games today and i have won 3 out of 4, with 2 shutouts.

One of them was against a fully stacked 85 Bears D lol. I won 7-0.

If you think having a stacked D will allow you to dominate the game. NOPE!

No one has ran over 100 yards against me yet.

Well I haven't seen anything like that when they are offense, but when they are on defense they always seem to lay out my runningbacks .. they have layed out Earl Campbell, Walter Payton, and Christian Okoye ( I got him just to see if he would get layed out by the generic CB's, sure enough .. he did :/)

one dynamic they changed that im not sure i like is the lower the shoulder move. in 2k5 with a big back you could lower your shoulder to absorb impact then start tappin A to try and break the tackle (it wasnt just for bowling over defenders). in APF2k8 if you arent charged the lower the shoulder button is almost useless. even with a bruiser vs a light CB. but what im learning is instead of lowering the shoulder start tappin A early and it leads to trying to shed the tackle.
but back to the topic yes you get in the habit of depending on your stars and when you get a big play out of your generics its nice.

I don't think anybody's seen a generic WR the way one of mine did last night. Ken Stabler bombed a fade pattern to my generic slot receiver, he sprinted around the CB and dove like Superman (he was literally parallel to the ground, damn I wish I caught a vid) and made the catch. My opponent didn't even bother challenging because he was that impressed.
