The sales numbers aren't bad but the game design is one of the worst I have seen in a long time. I understand they are riding with gameplay but they make it hard to play head to head games. Stupid.

I agree. Anyone who says this game is not completely geared towards the online gamer needs to take their head out of the sand.

I think the game design itself is fine, but the menu design and user interface are horrible. This is largely because for some reason 2K Sports decided to make their game without any direct use of built-in Xbox LIVE features on the Xbox 360. So there are features that already exist in Xbox LIVE that are needlessly duplicated within the game's own interface, but don't work as well at all. I suspect that was because they were making the game on PS3 as well, so they wanted the user experience to be the same on each system. A nice idea, but the user experience should have been GOOD as well when it came to accessing menus, features and options.

The system that is in place is thoroughly illogical and counterintuitive, effectively "user hostile" - all without good reason. I'm beginning to think a patch won't work either, for the same reasons. It is almost as if the game was created on its own "virtual console" concept it seems, then dropped onto the Xbox 360... So it sometimes forgets where the hard drive is, how to access it, how to retrieve data from it, and so on...

I sort of suspect that had 2K Sports released the game only on Xbox 360 we wouldn't be having this particular problem, but I could be wrong. Maybe they spent so little (or had so little to spend) on quality control and testing that they never got around to the issue. Maybe they just ran out of time, in their attempt to come to market before Madden 08, that they weren't able to fix it ahead of time. Or maybe, if they hadn't put out a PS3 version to begin with, they wouldn't have run out of either time OR money.

I'm gonna remove my hard drive and see if that makes any difference at all...

OK, now that it's confirmed that we cannot transport our team to play at a friend's house, how about the playbooks? Is it part of our profile or do I have to recreate my playbook (manually add plays and formations) when I get to my friend's house?

Re: How would you take YOUR teams to somebody else's house to play their teams?

i have only played like 1.5 games. all this talk has me worried seeing as how i want this game when i do purchase a 360, but everything i have been hearing really makes me ask why the rush?

2k5 is my favorite football game of all time but they rushed that one too and missed alot of bugs and issues with that game as well. let's all hoipe for our sake that take two make money on this game and give it the proper time to implement things and do some quality control, cause i believe the last 2 games were missing it.

Your decision comes down to this. If your primary focus with football videogames is the action between the goalposts then the game is a must have. If all the external stuff matters to you as much as gameplay then don't bother. I personally enjoy the game and it's digital crack as far as I'm concerned. Putting your squad together and taking it and your skill online to claim your supremacy is fun with this game. And the gameplay, oh my. lol. You are missing out on some good football if you're not playing this. ANYTHING else and you may want to investigate further if this game is for you. The only reason why I wish this game came out later is because I now have all but abandoned all my other games. lol. I actually have to force myself to get other games in.
