I just want clarification that if I take a player and make him Gold and give him no abilities, and I take a Silver and Bronze player and give them no abilities - is gold going to be naturally better than Silver just because he's gold? I'm assuming it's not just the abilities, but their star level that also makes them good.

Try it and let us know. I'm curious to see how much better he will be.
