Have you seen the new Ladanian Tomlinson commercial where he's looking presciently through his visor at the run he's about to make? In that commercial, he gets 1-1 with a DB, does a small version of the scissor kick, then jukes I believe. The way it works there is it throws off the DB's ability to judge LT's speed and next move, as either foot could be the plant foot for a cut, a spin, a shoulder dip, or whatever. My hunch is that it works the same way in the game.

Besides being useful for setting up another move, the scissor kick is just hella great to look at.
