Question regarding Leadership Bonus

Anyone know if "leadership bonus" increases the ratings of the entire team or only offense/defense? For example if you have one player with leadership bonus on defense - will the teamates be better on defense only or both offense and defense?

I tried an experiment by installing Mike Ditka as a defensive lineman. I only have 3 bronze players on defense so I hoped Ditka would offer some leadership help on D. It seemed to help some as I beat the Knights 24-10 giving up 196 yards on 40 plays. Ditka wasn't very effective but he had a couple tackles and didn't make any bone-headed plays. I tried him as a linebacker as well but he stunk in coverage.

Also, Ditka wasn't bad as a fullback - he rushed for 37 yards on 9 carries and had him blocking in front of Earl Campbell (ouch.) Gotta love smash mouth football....

No body knows, been asked a dozen times. A guy that's in good with 2K asked and got a cryptic answer, where as he usually gets the scoop. Anything anyone posts is just speculation.

You can always try doing what I did. I created an ALL LEADERSHIP team. Every single Legend I picked has the LEADER icon, even if it is the only one they have. Try it yourself and judge the results first hand.

Everyone on both sides of the ball, even guys who were already pretty dependable on other teams I formed, played supremely well. It is truly outstanding to watch and play. The generic players all amped up their play level too and have made some awesome plays for me. I'm really liking it a lot and intend to play several seasons with this group.

I do have one problem in my lineup, as I have an extra ILB as a Legend that I will have to find a way to replace. I didn't realize the defensive formations won't allow me to play both of those Legends at once... Even so, it seems the one on the bench is leading from there... Perhaps amping up the generic troops?
