During the actual tournament they will review the data. If they find something fishy they will kick the person from the tournament.

I know the guy who actually sets the tournaments up. So i can get first hand info if you want to know anything. Well, one of the guys.

I'm signed up but it's totally unclear how do I play the qualifying games?

YOu just play games online right now. If you make it as one of the top 256 teams you qualify for it. There is a post over on the 2k forums and a link is provided with the info. Its not updated every game you play, but they update it as MS gives them the info.

The question that I have is do you have to play people that are registered in the tournament?

Also I am ranked in the thirties and it did not change. How do you know where you are ranked in the new rankings?
