So because you think it's crap, you don't want them to add a mode in which a lot of people like and think would add depth to a game?

OK.

I like the tier system though, it's less extreme than what I had in mind. Under my system, you could have a team with 18 Bronze (at one extreme) versus a team with 6 Gold (at the other extreme) -and a ton of middle ground.

The distinction between the star levels should be moderate between Gold and Silver (or Silver versus Bronze), clear between Gold and Bronze, and dominate in Gold versus Generic.

Then you could have Reggie White own a generic LT, get constant push versus a Bronze, and mostly held in check versus Silver or Gold for example.

I'm sure the VC guys are mulling over the options, as this has been a learning experience for all of us.
I think both you (VC) and LB'z have the situation well in hand with this suggestion.... this would make the game even more versatile than it is... I would also hope the 2K in it's infinite wisdom with institute a playbook save mode that carries all your plays from one season to the next... I spent two 1/2 hrs. again loading plays to start a new season... its almost come to a point where I don't feel like starting a new season b/c of reloading a 1500 to 2000 play (playbook).....!!!!!

If they tighten up the graphics and add a real franchise mode, I'll give 2k9 a look.

Re: APF2k9 is confirmed

Mmm... About the dumb@$$ playbooks... I think that when you start a new season, the game basically makes a carbon copy of your team, a snapshot really, and copies that into the Season Mode. Once the season starts you can't make any changes to the uniform design or roster team members within that season. Any changes you make to the original team and uniform design are not reflected within the season. However... I think that if you set up the Depth Chart, Substitutions and Playbook ~*IMMEDIATELY*~ after you initially create a team, all of those become part of it for good. So... After you make those changes, if you start a new offline Season or join an online League/Tournament, your playbooks and other team settings are carried over. I'll have to test this to make sure though.

Take the core gameplay tweak it and add some kick butt options...We will have one of the best games out.
Agreed.

I beleive 2K9 will be loaded and busting at the seams with options and modes etc....2K8 is just appetizer for us at the moment, 2K9 will be the full course meal.

They can't use 32 teams (offline) because it would be just like the NFL. You have to remember VC is trying to keep from being sued by the NFL and EA. Thats why the uni creator wasn't deep enough for people to create all the NFL teams.

I hope 2K9 is like 2K5 with 2K8's gameplay and I hope they go with generic teams.
