blocked punts cant be scored a safety?

This has happened to me twice now. I have blocked a punt near the endzone and it goes out of the endzone. Instead of it being called a safety, the ref signaled touchback, and I was given the ball at my OPPONENT'S 20 yard line.

It's just strange that this game would choose to rule it this way.

Yep and the blocked FG's can't be returned.

I had a funnier one, with him and tony romo hugging on a brokeback mountain 2 poster, but felt it was a little insensitive due to the untimely passing of Heath Ledger.

I was on gamefaqs discussing this glitch and I had a guy saying this was the developers intention to get this rule wrong. I told them i think its a glitch and gave a valid explanation as to why it was a glitch and not developers design.

This games engine for all intents and purposes was ported from NFL 2k5 with some alterations. like adding the charge to quarterbacks, reworking the ratings system, and so on. Well sometimes things dont go smoothly in the porting process, and I am speculating as I dont know for sure, that maybe something in the code that plays out with this rule got lost. It was called a safety in 2k5 if i recall correctly. Well say the part where this is called a safety got lost. The game recognises that the ball goes out of the endzone so its a touch back, brought out 20 yards. but the game also recognises that there was just a punt and the ball went out of bounds, so possession must go to the recieving team. The game never recognises that this should be a safety. So its a glitch, not design.

I posted that response on gamefaqs this morning and am waiting to be called a newb, idiot, moron who fails at life later on today.

Another thing like this i have seen is when you get a interception and a penalty on the same play the int dosent show up in the stats.

I'm not sure if it's a glitch, but it seems like there have been a few rules changes... I mean, one foot in for a catch...
