I just heard via CNN that TT has turned down 2 EA offers today, but now EA will be having a press conference so a deal may have been reached. Stay tuned....

They want one game getting all the sales... why would one company make two nfl games? They need to work on getting ONE game right first.

Not to mention, why would they still release an NFL version of a game many people consider a superior product when Madden is EA's bread and butter?

If EA buys 2k, you can most likely wave goodbye to ANY competition, period. They'll eat up the MLB license (most likely making it exclusive), so no more The Show. They already have the NFL license. They have basically all college licenses locked up, FIFA, NASCAR, PGA... The only one they don't have is the NBA and NHL, and even though the NBA says they won't go the way of exclusivity... ANY business can be bought at the right price.

This just isn't good news at all fellas, no matter how positively some of you try to spin it.

Its not that uncommon for a companies stock to go up after news of a possible buyout/takeover hits. Its a temporary patch, generally speaking.

I highly doubt such a clause exists. VC is not under contract with Take Two. They are owned by Take Two. Big deifference. So whoever buys Take Two buys VC. It would be different if VC was an independent studio that has a publishing contract with Take Two.
