Re: 2k5 VS All pro Football 2k8
All-pro's passing game -- in particular, the differences in arc/velocity/release/accuracy/timing among the various quarterbacks, and catching/route running among the various receivers -- is a significant upgrade over 2k5. Also, many of the dumb DB animations from 2k5 are gone or replaced with something more appropriate.
I think All-pro's running game wins in a landslide. The player momentum system is, to me, just right, and fits perfectly with the slightly slower, more deliberate gameplay flow.
One area where 2k5 is better, IMO, is in defensive player control. I know what APF is trying to do with defensive player momentum on direction changes, but I think it needed a few more months of tuning and tweaking. The feel is too jerky and unforgiving, and not tuned to the analog stick as well as ballcarrier control.
