Re: Best defensive player to play with on All-Pro

For defense i like to use Nick Bounticanti (spelling) as my middle line backer, but if i go with a gold i use Joe Scmidt. He's a beast playing the cover 2. Greg Lloyd also plays like a gold. He's a bad ***.

He really should have ballhawk and coverage--he was a seven time all pro, and picked off a tone of passes in his career.

Decided to give the guy a shot, and he's been on fire... Strange thing is his only skills are something like Special-Teams Demon and Loose-Ball Management. Neither of which I've ever cared about or paid any attention to. I don't get why he's so adept at getting in position for interceptions.

Here are the 4 gold Loose Ball Magnets

GOLD - Loose-Ball Magnets

Dick Butkus
Ronnie Lott
Derrick Thomas
Rod Woodson

If you want great ball pursuit, whether it be air or ground pick up a loose ball magnet.
Very interesting.
So... is 'Magnet' preferable to 'Run Coverage' or 'ball hawk'?

I've noticed that loose ball magnet types are good at getting bobbled passes as well as fumbles, but I haven't yet linked that to pursuit. That's worth checking out, though it doesn't entirely make sense to me.

It's this bronze player with the last name of Marion, I'm not sure if he's made up but he plays FS, he's good at INT's and tackling. Another good player is William Perry. I like being in the trenches playing DT.

Agreed, And from what catch said it should also 'cause more agressiveness on the pass rush as well (the QB does have the ball).
Ive never played with Butkus, Lott or Thomas. but Woodson is very agressive. looks like some bronze CAPs with 'ball magnet' are in order.

Re: Best defensive player to play with on All-Pro

I use my CAP Lawrence Taylor as my test subject for all the defensive special abilities. Guys like Bednarik, Dick Anderson, Jim Marshall and others with loose ball magnet are always aggressive when chasing the ball carrier when it is near them. They react FAST, and not slow like other players that have run coverage. Which can be a problem cause sometimes they run right into a block or they take to direct an angle or just a flat out poor route to the ball.

Their reaction speed is high!
