Re: Is this cheese?

Is this cheese if I put 3 defensive ends on a 3 man line and just pass rush. Sort of like what the Giants did earlier in the year last year with Umenyora, Strahan, Tuck and Kiwanuka (before he got hurt) in passing situations. The Giants would put all 4 defensive ends on the line and just pin the other teams ears back

Re: Is this cheese?

Sure, do it against my Earl team .

Really, though, do what you want. My typical rule of thumb is to use guys in roles they occupied IRL, but that's just me. I think putting a pass rushing LB at DE in the nickel and dime is fine 'cause you see it IRL. Putting an end at T might be just another interpretation of this move for the 3-4.

7. Running a player too much

9. Using double screens
10. Throwing to the back on deep patterns
11. Too many formation shifts
My advice is to play your game. All of what you listed can be stopped.

1-3 Bring a safety into the box. When I play a dominant run game I bring my run stopping strong safety into the box. It work wonders and it is sim. Why do some think that you can stop a great running game with only 6 and 7 players in the box and many times thay dont even have a run stopping d linemen/linbacker. Not your fault if they want to use all their legends on defensive backs.

4-6 Is just sour apples. There are tons of coverages (zone, man, and hybrid) that can manage short, long, and whatever.

7, See 1-3

8, block better, slide protection, keep backs in, hot route to vacant space

9, Cover 2 press, Cover 3 weak and hot route your olb to the flat, etc

10, play a cover 3 and hot route a lb to man up on him

11, see Tom Landry, Martz etc formation shifts is one of the most under ultilize aspect in this game. . I play zone to keep my assignments the same.

I played you before and I like your game. I like seeing new wrinkles. I was called cheese because I was running too many 4 and 5 wr sets. Like I said before play your game.

Peace

Re: Is this cheese?

Someone always has a complaint when they're getting beat down. Don't sweat them too much, I'm sure you play a good game.

Yeah, Catch, you're straight. Playing defense against you makes me think and be more active than against most because of your creativity with formations, etc., but I actually like that and I didn't see anything in our games that seemed off at all to me. Truth to tell, I think I'm gonna start experimenting more with formations and motion, as I can get pretty dull on the offensive side of the ball.

I think experimenting with formation shifts will add another demension to your offense.

Thanks, grunt, and diplomatically put . I'm about as boring as the missionary position when it comes to offense. I'm actually surprised I scored at all in the league. I just don't like playing offense so I hardly put any effort into it. After taking 8 losses in season one, that's about to change. Be on notice!

Re: Is this cheese?

Find an offense you like in the NFL then use that particular offense as the template.
