Don MF Maynard!!!

The dude is a bonifide All Pro super hero. I know it is common knowledge on this board that DMFM is a gold dressed up as a silver (I learned about him reading numerous posts on here). I just have to brag about this guy through. A few days ago I was playing online against a guy who made the logical decision to assign Lem Barney against DMFM and play man cover 2 or double him w/ a CAP silver safety all game long. DMFM's stats were 8 catches, 8 throw to, 205 yrds, long 55 yrds, 0 drops. In the 25+ games I have used him I don't ever recall him dropping anything w/o being crushed by the likes of Lott. He has burned me online way more than Rice ever has.

How Don didn't get made as a gold is a mystery to me. I've only used him for a handful of games, but he strikes me as the most complete player in the game. I have Rice on my league team, and I think Rice runs the best routes in the game, Maynard will do the short stuff like Rice, catch the deep ball, and hold onto it over the middle, which is where Rice can come up short from time to time. Plus, with the bump buster ability, he's a lock to beat the press.

When this game was released, Lem Barney and Don Maynard were my 2 most hated opponents because I knew they'd out-play their tier and always do something to impact the game. Maynard doesn't have a weakness and can take gold DB's to school all game. He's the first logical pick at silver WR to take in drafts bar none.

The only knock you could really have on him is his lack of speed after the catch. He doesn't have breakaway burst, but that weakness rarely if ever shows up!
