I will use the hot corner route if...

I will use the hot corner route if I beleive you are in two soft or two hard, if I drop back and see a different zone I will not throw because I know outside of those two zone types it can be exploited. But its silly to think someone wouldn't run a deep or short corner if you're playing your DB's that shallow because thats where the holes are in the defense.

Thoughts comments I'm just curious how others view this.

Only instance I'll use hot-corner route is if I'm on the other team's goal line and I'm looking for a lob to my WR in the back of the endzone.

Actually, I really try to avoid calling hot routes all together, except when I want a FB/HB/TE to stay and block [Extra blitzers/star D-linemen].

I don't really use them unless it's pretty obvious that there is a hole that I can audible into. If they are pressing my reciver and he is on the wide side of the field and I got 3 guys on the other side of the field. I will probably hot corner or hot out. Does it work all the time? No but it defientely helps.

I can't bring myself to use them. I understand what s38s is saying, but I just won't do it. It just opens me up to criticism that I don't want. I just use mid range corner routes from designed plays instead.

I feel you but there seems to be an influx of cover two usage and good Safties can close on the Medium to long Corners...please dont misunderstand I don't do this as a wash, rinse repeat; but I will throw it to keep people honest (perhaps 2-4 times). I just think its lame when people complain critique you when you hit the hole in "that" particular defense.
