in season mode, if you create your team from a cold weather area, will you see snow? in all the seasons i've done, i've never seen snow, only rain

Good question, I have seen rain but never snow. Time to make an open air Chicago team.

I think I remember seeing snow with my '85 Bears team in a season. I might be mistaken though.

when choosing teams for a quick game, press y. you should then see options for time of day, weather, quarter length, etc

I love how the weather, especially the snow, affects players' abilities to plant their feet into the ground and cut.

I had Andre Reed fall down (!) in the snow while attempting to make a cut on the defender, which led to a pretty embarrassing interception by the DB.

My punters and kickers always seem to slip in the snow, which I have some pretty hilarious replays of. Lou Groza fell on his butt while attempting an extra point, for example, sending the try hilariously askew and short.

Love the snow in this game.
