CAP Redskins TE Jerry Smith
I am a Redskins fan running a 2 TE offense with Cooley as one and I am looking for the other (been usign Wycheck..yeah, he only played a couple years with the skins). I found this guy:
Jerry Smith 13 year career
421 career receptions
5496 yards
13.1 avg
60 TDs
32 rec per year avg, had 40+ 6 times, 67 1x.
Had 7+ TDs 4x with 12 TDs in '67. (Sharpe had 7+ 4x as well)
This beats Ditka in TDs and is 2 less than Shannon Sharpe.
yardage wise, it's 400 less than Ditka...a bunch less than Sharpe.
Average is in between Ditka and Sharpe.
My thinking is that this guy had several records for receptions and TD by a TE for a number of years and should be no less than Silver...probably Gold.
Abilities I am thinking of: Possession Reciever, Soft Hands, Tough In the Middle.
I see no reference to blocking abilities....but wouldn't mind throwing in some pass or run blocking ability.
What I currently have is: Soft Hands, Possession Reciever, and Bulldozer.
Thoughts?
