Re: should i get this game?
If you are used to Madden, it is a long transition. The controls are different and the game plays completely different. Where Madden lacks in fluid animations, All-Pro makes use of long animations that look great but sometimes make you feel you have absolutely no control. (not too much different from when Madden glitches you though through suction blocks and what not, except it looks a lot better)
My #1 problem with the game is the arcadish charge up meter. You have to hold A (xbox 360 controls) for a second and then the icon beneath your selected player starts flashing and your controller vibrates. Then you can do a move like a juke, spin move, DL move, bullet pass, accurate pass, etc. For a run up the middle, you practically have to wait till your RB is past the LBs to do a power move.
The game has some upside though. Getting to play with historic players is cool. The game doesn't have the graphics that Madden has, but the animations are cool. The tackle physics is better. There is actual movement on the OL/DL instead of Madden's stationary lock on system. Sometimes though, there appears to be too much movement in the interior as on a run up the middle sometimes DT will be pushed out as far as the DEs line up. Most of this is because they don't resist pressure. I find if you manually control them, you can steer the block so that you don't get washed out as much.
All in all though, its a unique experience and worth the $5 you can buy it for.
