Special Teams Demon Ability -- What exactly does it do and why is it important?

I meant: "Special Teams Demon."

For example, I have given both Percy Harvin and Devin Hester "Return Specialist". Would giving both of them Special Teams Demon help the blocking they get on Kick and Punt Returns? Or would it be more worthwhile to give it to an Offensive Lineman and they make sure he is one of the blockers on the field when Harvin or Hester, or anyone, are returning a kick or punt? Thanks

I never really noticed it make a difference. It seems I got better special teams help by placing Legend players on special teams

It supposedly helps special teams cover men. I rarely have seen it make a difference except for one online league game I had against a player who had Deron Cherry.

On that specific play Cherry split 3 blockers and tackled my return specialist. It was the first and only time that I saw such a play from a special team demon.

This ability only affects a player's defensive kick coverage ability. It has no use on offensive players.

Think of it as the "Steve Tasker" ability. A defender who has it will get downfield faster, shed more blocks, and make more tackles on kick returns.

Exactly right.

And as I stated, you are better off simply just putting a Legend on your STs coverage unit if you really want to improve that aspect of your game. For example, I have Dave Wilcox and Albert Lewis on ST coverage and rarely have a run-back.

However I get what he is saying. Return Specialist are not as dangerous as they are in real life. I mean you do get good returns now and then but I never truly fear that if I kick it to this guy it is almost a guaranteed touchdown if the coverage is bad.

I guess to maximize a return specialist you can try some combos.

Return Specialist - Strength - Leadership

That combo should do the trick, add a speed ability as well like Breakaway Burst and you got a monster!
