Re: What is your (FlyingFinn) wish list for the 2K Editor?

I forgot one.

- Ability to edit CPU depth charts or at least copy the USER depth chart template over the CPU one (most teams don't utilize their players well because they don't put them into correct positions to succeed, this would help a lot)

If Finn is able to only do a handful of these things being wished for, it would sure help a lot in the editing process and might bring some more people back to the game. I really hope that he picks this up again because this is the ONLY football game I play when I have time and, I believe, the ONLY one worth playing.

I've been working on a roster for over the past 2 years, so I would sure like a more advanced editor!

Re: What is your (FlyingFinn) wish list for the 2K Editor?

2 notes:

- Upon our request to add high helmet tackles to the 2K editor (for a fee), Finn stated he wanted to get back into editing when he gets back to the U.S. in January. Not sure if he will or won't, just getting a list of potential edits/additions if he does.
- This list is a wishlist (1) depending on how much time he has or wants to invest into it and (2) depending on what is even possible. Ratesports, per your comments, do you believe it's possible to replace the logos with custom ones?
- If you are willing to donate for this project, post here or PM me (with an amount) so I can let Finn know. I have given him the amount I would pay him for these (with custom logos, if even possible, as a seperate amount).

- Add high helmet tackles
- Add ability to see faces so you can
easily add a legends face to CAPs
- Editing CAP names
- Editing uniforms
- Editing team names
- Import custom logos
- Ability to switch around playbooks (both CPU and USER teams)
- Ability to edit CPU playbook plays (a pipe dream)
- Ability to edit CPU team run/pass ratio (switching playbooks around is nice, but real change will come when we can make the teams truly utilize them)
- Ability to switch CPU teams to be USER teams (can already do this in hex but it would save a lot of time if it was in the editor)
- Ability to organize players into their respective teams so that it is easier to navigate instead of just scrolling until you find the correct player
-
Ability to put generics from all 24 teams on an 8-team roster file so that all 8 teams don't have the same generics.
- Ability to edit CPU depth charts or at least copy the USER depth chart template over the CPU one (most teams don't utilize their players well because they don't put them into correct positions to succeed, this would help a lot)

I've said the exact same thing myself. I actually--and I know people will call me insane--would prefer another unlicensed game. They just need to drop all the restrictions they had before and do this thing full force this time. Forget the NFL if they don't get the license. Make the NFL wish they did do business with them and just embarrass Madden (which won't be too hard to do at this point).

I just feel like they didn't put enough effort into a lot of things that were absolutely crucial, like, a lot of the team names were downright awful, and the team name database was way too small for a game like this. There should've been hundreds more names. I mean, I found it completely bizarre that names like Generals and Outlaws weren't included in a game like this. Midway did a much better job of picking team names (and making logos) in Blitz The League. Also, they should've had it where you can pick the audio database to say a City name instead of the mascot name if you want. Blitz The League did that and it was a very smart move. This way, if a mascot name isn't in the database the user won't have to pick a goofy mascot name that doesn't fit and will still be satisfied hearing the City name called. See, why didn't 2K think of stuff like that? That's what upsets me.

I don't know. I love All-Pro Football, but I just remain peeved that they didn't put in their best effort with this game. So many bonehead mistakes, oversights, and omissions. But I'm certain they won't make the same missteps again.

I think it would also be nice if Finn could figure out the unknown ratings. UNK 26 & UNK 29 would be nice to know. Would also be nice if he could figure out where the leadership rating is, although I think that's probably impossible.

Re: What is your (FlyingFinn) wish list for the 2K Editor?

Here's the thing...if you want to play the team online, you CANNOT alter the legends' or generic players' names at all. I tried this out the other day. I went into the hex editor and changed generics on my team into created players. Then I went into my edit player screen. I edited the names and went to play the game offline. It worked offline, but when one of those edited players made a play...the announcer will call him by his original name. Then once you try to go online...the game freezes up. You cannot alter these guys' names. HOWEVER, you can change their position, height, weight, abilities, etc. I've done this recently for my 2013 New Orleans Saints team. After created my 20 CAPs, I wanted to make a Shayne Graham as kicker. But I couldn't because the game only allows you to created 20 CAPs. What I did was put the QB Otto Graham on my team, went into the Hex Workshop and changed his position to kicker. Then went into the All-Pro Editor and changed his stats, height, weight, jersey number, etc to reflect Shayne Graham. Now I have my kicker. I did this with my 2013 Redskins. If you ever play me online, you'll see my entire offensive line with their last names and jersey numbers that reflect their NFL counterparts. All I did was take true generics in the game and re-positioned them into lineman. By doing this, you'll still be able to play the game online.

Another note is when you change any of the legend players into generics, their face automatically changes to one of the generic faces.

This would be a nice addition to the editor IF FlyingFinn decide to go forward.

added to first post:
- Ability to edit generic names and numbers to reflect NFL CAPs (tested by Jermaine76 to work online)

thanks

Re: What is your (FlyingFinn) wish list for the 2K Editor?

The only thing is....you edit their names then you won't be able to play online. So my way of going around that issue is doing what I posted in the previous post. Also, you can just phase out all the true generics on your team by replacing them with people you either created or altered.
