KingJavo - is there any way you can add a way to change a player's team? I think this would get rid of the need to re-create free agents on new teams.

Also...is there a way to change which team is user-controlled?

Both of those things are unknown in terms of how to do them in hex. Remember there are two parts to this process. One is finding out the hex locations and values in the roster file which affect the game. Second is the coding to have the application make those changes for you.

I've not been able to understand how the players are assigned to teams. I never spent time trying to research how to make a team user controlled.

If anyone knows how then I can code it.

Thanks for giving us some updates. I figured that was how the process worked (from hex discoveries to coding it into the editor), and I know you were probably busy with family and life. I just think we've kind of hit a road block in terms of developing this editor and game more.

If you aren't finding the hex discoveries AND doing all the coding for the editor, there's probably not a whole lot that can be done at this moment. Most of the people still playing have very little hex experience and/or time to do the in-depth research (I have a fair amount of experience but little time). Those that did make some big finds (catcatch22 and AVONFTW) haven't posted anything new in the last couple of years.

It's unfair to place all the responsibility of both finding and then coding in all the new hex info on you. I know there is still plenty left to find and believe there is a quite a lot that has to be in and around where you unlock the CPU teams. It sucks because if I could just figure out how to correct the location of the shoulder numbers, remove the logo from CPU helmets, and change the playbooks of the CPU teams to my custom playbook, I could easily finish two of my historic teams rosters. Maybe one day.

I've used Finn's Backbreaker editor in the past and I'm not sure you can really find anything else to fix/alter with it. The whole game was pretty bare bones and there just wasn't a lot to work with in general. The game was fun to play but it had waaaaay more hinderances to customization than even APF. Outside of logos, uniforms, and endzone designs with the teams and player ratings and skin tones with the players, there wasn't much else that was even an option in the game.

King Javo, just downloaded the editor and great job! Finns was great but this took his to another level.

Quick issue I'm having is I'm using a ratesports based roster. Let me first say I apologize if this has been answered. I skimmed the thread to see if this was answered and didn't see it but I've edited player names and info with no issue, used horizon to rehash and resign, but when I load up the game, the players lose their names and instead are jumbled up together. Any pointers on what I'm doing wrong?

Best thing to do is not use that rate sports file. Start with a default one and edit from there and you should be fine.

Any fix for this 8 user team exceeded message? I have ZERO teams checked but I'm still getting this message. I know how to do it manually in the hex but is there a fix for this other than doing it manually in hex?
