I would argue that his abilities should be Return Specialist, Speed Burner, and Ball hawk. The reason why teams were scared to throw at Sanders was because there was a great chance that he would intercept the ball and return it to the house. He was viewed as a thief by other teams, a sure turnover waiting to happen, and nobody wanted to get their balls jacked off while they were trying to score. Few teams would throw his way because of this, so he was seen as a shutdown corner, though his real talent was his ball-hawking ability and the threat of him returning the INT for a TD with his return skills and speed.

But at the same time you need coverage. He was still a every down back, that would disrupt any pass that came his way. thats why i used Ball Hawk and Coverage.

Re: Deion Sanders CAP

He looks like Elton Brand so far, lol. This system is hard to make their face perfect.

the last two posts are THE perfect example of why you need to be able to give your gold CAP more than 3 abilities. Both of you are right.

There is no reason that Sanders should be without any of the abilities discussed in this thread.

Re: Deion Sanders CAP

I gave him RS, ball Hawk, and Closing Speed. I went with closing speed because back in my junior high days I played a lot of cornerback out on the playground during lunch/recess. I read this interview with Deion where he said one of his tactics is to make the WR think he had a step on him, then kick in the afterburner to swat or pick the ball off. I tried this out on the playground and I had great success with it

I thought about using closing speed too. The problem with that is Deion was super fast ALL THE TIME. With closing speed he's only fast when the ball is in the air but what about after he has the ball in his hands? The last thing I want to see is Deion getting caught from behind after an INT.

Maybe a combination of speed bonus and ball hawk will mimic the closing speed ability.

Originally I was thinking speed bonus, ball hawk and coverage bonus but now i'm thinking:

speed bonus
ball hawk
return specialist
