I have it all installed properly, i downloaded the created legends file and then transmitted it the memory card that came with XChange - All that is done and easy. However, why doesnt the memory card fit into the top of the 360 controller? Am i missing something here? It doesnt make sense lol

it goes into the front of your 360, not the controller.

Dude, you're not the first one to do it. Before the 360 launched I looked at the controller and said where the heck does the memory card go? I hope you're enjoying the legends file.
