Craig or Watters?

I'm making an all-49ers team and can't decide if I want to use Roger Craig or Ricky Watters as my RB.

Both are good at catching passes out of the backfield. Watters maybe has more speed than Craig? I'm torn.

Re: Craig or Watters?

I like Watters better, personally. He is a tad faster, to be sure, and he does well catching the ball out of the backfield. That second-level spin move is wicked, too.

Not many people roll with him, though. I have seen Craig a bit online, and he typically gets 1-2 good runs on me. I wonder if those high knees actually help break tackles, or they are just cosmetic.

Tough call, but I think Watters was the better overally running back for sure. More yards, more explosive in his prime. I feel blasphemous saying that, though, as the '80s niners were my favorite team as a kid.

I was leaning towards Watters b/c of the fact that he seems underused in this game, yet has really good abilities. That spin move is nice.

I can always rotate them every few games unless I decide to start up a season with this particular team. Then I'd have to lock in a choice.

Re: Craig or Watters?

I was always using Craig when setting up an all 9ers team... then I gave Watters a shot and never looked back.

Also look at it this way,
Steve Young @ QB = Watters
Joe Cool @ QB = Craig

Just my 2 cents

Re: Craig or Watters?

IMO Watters is a better runner while Craig is a slightly better receiver out of the backfield. I like to use Watters more because he has a much better burst and more big play ability.

Re: Craig or Watters?

I just went with a WCO team and chose Watters, and man did he ever have a game. He's not as powerful between the tackles as Craig, perhaps, but he separates just fine and has nice long-term burst. He took two runs for 60+ yards and finished with over 150 on like 16 carries. He changes direction reasonably well also.

Sweet. I haven't been able to play much APF lately, but I am definitely going to add Watters to my all-49ers team when I get back into it. Also stepping up to Legend difficulty instead of using slider tweaks.

Re: Craig or Watters?

In the interest of having a fair comparison, I changed my back from Watters to Craig on the WCO team, and Craig definitely has more reliable hands and is a little bit tougher as a runner, though the burst isn't there like it is with Watters. My YPC isn't as high with Craig, but I feel like he's more clutch.
