I'm looking to build a specific type of team, but I need help deciding on where to put legends. I'm not looking for specific players, just for what general positions and tendencies I need.
On offense I want my team to be a smash-mouth team, one that could concievably run the ball 70-80% of the time, only passing on 3rd and long. Obviously I would like to invest a Gold player into my HB since he will be my offense, but I was also wondering if it would be good to take a couple legend blockers.
On defense I want my team to run the 3-4 and to get lots of pressure on the QB to disrupt passes, but also be good against the run. I was thinking of investing a lot of legends into my front seven (DL/LB) and take a completely generic secondary (IMO there are a lot more good generic DBs than DL/LB). However, I can't decide where I want to invest my remaining Gold player on D. I'm torn between ILB (playmaker and captain of the D) or OLB (get extra blindside pressure). Also, do you think it would be viable to use a 4-3 type DE in the 3-4 scheme? For example, using Elvin Bethea (4-3 DE) and putting him at RE in the 3-4?
Here's what I'm thinking of doing so far, any suggestions are welcome
G- Power HB
S- OG (for pulling-guard plays)
S- ILB/OLB (whichever one wasn't Gold)
B- WR (for the rare passing situations)
B- TE (same)
B- FB (with Bulldozer)
