As it is now, you have to look at this title being a one and done.

We are just to used to each sports title becoming an annual release that we assume every sports title will be.
If the title is successful a sequel will happen. Right?

They have stated that they would like to make this a franchise, but have not said if they want a yearly release.

As for the "It been 3years, it should be perfect" comments, games dont take one year to make, sports title squeals are on yearly cycles. Typical games take more then a year to make, some game a lot longer. To expect this game to have everything you want in a football game is ludicrous, its going to be a little sparse. I for one am looking forward to the release so i can make up my own mind on how good this game is.

Plenty of shooters and action games are damn near perfect on their first try, I don't see why Backbreaker gets to use that excuse.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

There is absolutely no excuse for any substandard game on it's first or it's 21st try (madden).

I hate Madden on nex-gen and I quit playing 10 in October, but come on every Madden has improved. I can make the same case with 2k. NFL 2k1 wasn't great. It took 5 years to get that game where it got. In fact, I have a hard time finding a title I've played that went backwards in a sequel on the same system.

And for the record, yes. Rob has stated many times that NM would like this to become a franchise.

Depends on what the developers deem successful.

My point is still the same with almost any game regardless of how good the specific game is. 2k5 was in fact, much better than 2k1. Madden 10 is much better than 06. When you build off of prior development, you generally get better results.
