Full 90 Minute Audio Interview With Rob Donald

Copy this and paste. This is the full link address. For some reason. I can't paste the link.

This is the unedited and full audio to the recent conference call with Rob Donald. This is apart of a podcast show after the brief opening with the hosts of the podcast. The full conference call starts.

You hear about alot more with this conference call than you do with the shortened version on youtube.

New info on player ratings etc

Re: Full 90 Minute Audio Interview With Rob Donald

It's a good listen. A couple of things I picked up.

First, the earning credits to buy better players appears to be a road to backbreaker feature. The other franchise mode has scouting, drafts, trades and more traditional way of improving your team.

Second, they talk about a "form system" in the franchise where players will be affected between games. It's not a fatigue or injury system, but it changes how players will play depending on if they have good, average, or bad form. Sounds like having some depth on your team will be important afterall.

One last tidbit, he said they are using NFL style rules. I expected that but it's nice to hear it from them. Fair catch and two feet inbounds instead of XFL or college style on these areas.

It appears that their ratings will go up or down after games based on their performance. I'm glad that is in there because 55 man rosters make more sense now.

so kind of like Baseball games, where a player is on a hot/cold streak?

I think so. I don't play soccer games but I guess it's in Fifa and Pro Evo in some way. Rob barely touched on it in the interview but there is a thread posted on the Backbreaker forum and the OP appears familiar with the system and says there is usually 3 levels.

Good form where the player is on a hot streak on his ratings go up a little, Average form where the player is playing at his normal level, and Bad form where the player is on a cold streak and the ratings go down.

Here is the BB thread:
