Re: Your Pros/ Cons of Backbreaker...

cons

player models - does the NFL own football jersey design? I think not

no injuries - give me random injuries until there is a better way to do it. since the BB team doesn't believe in random injuries does that mean there will be no random penalties as well?

sounds arcadey - emphasis on sounds. Hopefully the demo will put that to rest.

PROS

Physics, physics, physics. Sometimes it takes the little guy to show a little foresight. Madden is the bloated, resource intensive football version of windows software. Back Breaker is setting up a strong foundation that can be built on.

Power running controls vs agile running controls

we will have to see about this one. I hope Back Breaker will have a great initial offering

Re: Your Pros/ Cons of Backbreaker...

PROS:

- New football game option/new developer bringing fresh approach
- Physics-based engine

CONS (too many to name. But my biggest):

- Lack of team/player personalities: I know a lot of people view customization as a strong point but I still think it's difficult to overcome the lack of identifiable personalities in the game. Even though the game has somewhat impressive logo customization tools, I don't see it being sufficient for the "I need the NFL" crowd. And for those that don't need the NFL, I think the game's lack of personalities will stand out

- Player models: Not enough distinction between the positions. Players look overly-bulky

- Animations: While the tackles and overall interaction will likely be great since it's all rendered on the fly, I think the the base animations (throwing anims, catching anims, etc.) are somewhat dull from what I've seen so far

I think the game has far more cons than pros, but the game's positives weigh pretty heavily in making the game desireable for me. Looking forward to it

-nice graphics/stadiums scale
-game appears to have some personality

cons:
-NO FATIGUE/INJURIES
-no announcing (i understand why tho but just used to having it)
-not a nfl style schedule/playoffs structure?!?
-generic ppl, although im sure we'll find a way to create nfl/ncaa and share
-stiff qb dropback and some of the juke animations
-alot of deep details/stuff is still unknown this close to launch
the game does have a regular 16 game NFL type schedule with a playoff structure.....that is the multiple season mode..

Road To BackBreaker is different.

I'm pretty sure these dudes know what they're doing.

You're free to think what you want...but just because they didn't include hot routes doesn't mean they don't know about them or are completely un-knowledgeable when it comes to football.
NOR am I saying that they are football geniuses. At least they are giving this a try.
I'm fine with no hot routes...never really used them anyway.

Really? Is it necessary to say that?
I'm not bowing down. I'm keeping an open mind.
Of course...supporting this game = getting put down.
Yeah. Real logic there, my friend.

Possibly. It certainly could be an issue.. A hot route can save you from calling an audible if you dont like the D you see.. Its a simple and quick fix of a play.. This could be a big red flag..
