I am looking for creative ideas for creating teams...

Hi everyone,

I know I can only create 32 teams but I want to create a fictional league based off of a league I made up as a kid. It would consist of 102 teams. Two from each state and even two from D.C. The colors will be the colors of the top college football teams of each state. I just need ideas on team names and where they would play. Also, any input on the top two college football teams in each state would be great. I am thinking about using Rutgers and Princeton for my state of New Jersey. I am going to use my 32 favorite team names. Thank you for you help!

WOW I thought I was the only one who created fictional sports leagues as a kid XD My league had 80 teams lol.
Well I'll give you ideas for North Dakota lol.

(these aren't the Universities in the area though, I made up the GF Ice and the Fargo Force are a semi-pro hockey team lol)

You'll feel more immersed if you base them off real life teams. Like a development league for the NFL+ NCAA crap players league.

Like New York Giants Juniors, New York Jet Reserves, Princeton Alumni, etc.

Those are my suggestions.

I often times use free agent nfl players, castoffs and ncaa players and put them on my created teams in other football games.

There are so many cool and creative ideas that one can have for Backbreaker. It's so cool that you can create entire leagues. You can go with NFL, NCAA, High School, XFL, USFL, CFL, UFL, Arena League, Blitz The League teams etc etc etc... You can create teams from any season or any era.

A developmental league is a fun idea. Like The AFC South teams could be The Indianapolis Stallions, The Jacksonville Leopards, The Houston Statesman and The Tennessee Bohemoths. Or The NFC East teams, The New York Goliaths, The Dallas Stars, The Philadelphia Freebirds and The Washington Warriors.

You can create an NFL legends league if you want to or just an NFL legends team. If you want, You can create a league where there are regional teams and regional players. Like for example, Your Florida team would have all players that went to a college or are born in Florida. Each team and it's players can be localized.

No. YOU will feel more immersed...that doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way. For me, I have a greater connection to a team that I spend my time creating and putting my own touch on.
The only real teams that I'm going to create are my high school and our rival.

Yeah when I made this league up as a kid, I imagined it being in between college and the NFL...kinda like a stepping stone for the not-so-great college players...a developmental or a minor league of some kind.
