Re: (How) Did the BackBreaker demo shift your decision to buy/pass?

I'll probably buy it some day, but I have to rent it first to make sure.

I don't know, the game just seems to be a little too hectic for me. Basically, all collision, and no technique. And I'm fine with that, I LOVE collisions. But that's just it, I love collisions so much that I love to look at them from every possible angle. The current replay system does not allow that to happen, and honestly that could be my decision in buying the game or not.

All my friends know that in any football game, I'm going to be in replays looking at plays from every possible aspect in slow-mo half the time. That's why they don't like playing football games with me.

I may read a review or two first, but the demo actually made consider buying where I doubted I would buy it earlier. It's fun enough to where I may be able to tolerate the problems.

Re: (How) Did the BackBreaker demo shift your decision to buy/pass?

I went from possible bargain bin buy to definite buy. The game is a lot more polished than I expected. The passing game is like a combo of first person football and NFL Fever so I'm close to getting it down. The defense is a lot like 2k's firstperson football. My only gripe is the lack of pass catch/defense controls. I can live with the ints. I expected something to be unbalanced. But overall the good outweighs the bad enough to make the demo one of the most fun demos I have ever experienced. Returning a kick in Backbreaker makes me want act a fool. A big run, a big pass, and a user initiated big play on defense is more exiting in Backbreaker than in other football games. They built the better football engine.

Am I the only person who thinks Natal and Backbreaker would be a perfect match?

Looks like I'm going to do a flip-fop here, initially I was going to cancel my preorder after playing the demo for a day but after spending some more time with it and going back and forth with Madden and 2K I'm changing my answer to definite buy. I still have a few concerns but some things I saw as a negative such as the camera I now see as a positive, so put me down as a day 1 purchase : D
