Why wouldn't I do 22 Gold players?
when creating a team, why wouldn't I want to create 22 gold players. I just played a guy online and his ratings were very high on both sides of the ball, and I am assuming he had lots of gold players.....Is there any disadvantage to making as many gold players as you want? Not sure I understand the rating system.Tags: None -

From what I understand, if you pick 22 golds, the ratings of the players are all spread out. But if you pick just a few on each offense/defense, then those players get higher ratings. So it's about whether you want to be all around average, or have super-stars and scrubs. -

I tried to do the 4 gold on Off and 4 Gold on Def.. but found out everyone was doing 11 on each side of the ball when you take your team online.Comment

The game gets more challenging, realistic, etc. with just 2 or 3 gold players. Thats why you shoulnt' have 22 of them.Comment

Some have concerns that playing the CPU doesn't present a challenge, so if you create 32 teams with all of them having 22 gold star players, maybe this can present a challenge.
Just putting it out there.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

I think I'm going to start over with one gold on each side. it will make the game more fun trying to build up a dynasty. If I start off with 22 golds, there is no point of trying to sign a stud FA. It was fun to save up for that first great player.Comment

I think when creating NFL teams its a good idea to make anyone with a 85 or higher Madden rating a gold... that would be my way of creating the teams in order to have the teams represent the real ones... some with 10-15 golds, and some with maybe 5-6...Comment

I am doing a random amount for the teams that I create for my league. So far I have only 3 teams created, but one team got the lucky roll of the dice and had 11 on the offensive side of the ball, but only 2 on defense. They will be an interesting team once my league starts up.Comment

Simple reason to not use 22 gold players:
It makes you look like a dick online.
This is why we have threads dedicated to giving out our gamertags and online names. The majority of people online, regardless of game, suck.Last edited by RaiderKtulu; 05-31-2010, 08:00 PM.Comment

That is what I have been thinking as well, to help make the CPU more challenging. Create teams that are maxed out for CPU teams and than have your user team be rated only in the 60's of so. Then put those teams in the season mode. That should at least somewhat make the CPU more challenging.
As far as why somebody wouldn't create 22 golds for online, I honestly don't know. I don't think it matters that much though as I have beat people online using maxed teams with my teams only rated in the 60's. My team rating overall may be lower, but as somebody else said I find my top 2 or 3 star players seem to be better than theirs. I am actually 9-1 right now, my only loss was when I quit due to unplayable lag.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-31-2010, 08:43 PM.My Teams
