Roughing the kicker...

Hard difficulty, my created Buccaneers vs HON, 5 STRAIGHT CPU punts resulted in roughing the kicker...

Is there any way to stop this or is this game really unplayable vs the CPU?

Call your punt formation, press a once to pick the right DE, move him to the left, rush from the outside and just block the punt every time.

That's even worse than getting penalties every time......

It's better than having 2+ penalties every punt, computer is often 4th and > 15 when they punt on me, stopped playing it like a real game and more like Blitz and I have more fun. Since the penalty seems to happen so often otherwise AND it's not called correctly so I have to see it twice instead of them being awarded a 1st down.

Yeah, I wrote about this in the impressions thread. Happened to me on 8 straight punt attempts in one game. Five of them were blocked and returned for TD's, but were called back due to the penalty (which I didn't think was possible if you blocked it). I actually cut the game off because if the CPU can't punt, that pretty much destroys the whole game.

Yeah if you get the ball along with the punter, it's not roughing, seems pretty hit or miss (no pun intended) on when that's called.

Rushing from the left side with the right defensive end, you either pull the blocker away and your L DE can block it, or if I don't get picked up I just shoulder charge into the punter + ball.

It's often not even statistically awarded as a block for the punter, even though they lose posession during the kick and it's recovered by either team. I block several per game, I have played 6 teams in the first league in road to BB, and only 3 of them show blocked punts in their stats, for a grand total of 5.
