if you are using an older version xport 360 to view the folders you need to go to the code junkies web site to get an update to detect 120 gb hard drives. and if using vista make sure to open as administrator.

If none of that applies to you, then I am not sure.

you CANNOT simply connect your 360 hard drive to the computer via sata, they have different file systems. You need the MS data migration cable.

ok, if you say so. The only way I know of to get saves to and from the 360 hard drive is through the data migration cable.

not true man...theres other stuff out there like a SATA cable hookup this guy is referring to. there is also docks out there that u dock the HDD into. cant remember there names but there like $50. one is made by datel. u have to use the same type of programs tho like explorer 360 and such to see the files and move them around. i myself tho use the data migration cable from MS cuz i got them to send it to me for free.

for the OP, when u hook it up sometimes it acts funny if u do things outta order. if i were u, id unplug it then shut cpu down. then plug it up to the cpu and start it up with the hdd and cable already plugged in. hopefully upon startup it will read that its there this time and recognize it as new hardware. i had trouble even with the MS cable if u just plug it in when the cpu is already running. sometimes it recognize the cable and not the hdd attached.
