Re: Run the ball in the 'PROTECT BALL MODE"

Tried this last night. Doesn't really work. I will say that the runner stays on his feet better, but since it doesn't create holes, you just end up running into the backs of the O-Line who are getting pushed into the backfield, instead of falling down when making contact with them.

Definitely not a fix. Like Tyrant, I find the best fix is to stick with only certain types of runs that can at least keep you from losing yardage at a minimum.

Needs a patch.

That would be nice if they included pressure-sensitive juking, like a tap with the right stick to the left or right would just equate to a small side-step and holding in that position would be a full-on juke. That way I could have much more control of my players.

Or have them automatically put their arms on the olinemen and automate that part....which is why I'm puzzled they included the stumble recovery tap a button thing...that makes the running even harder when before they would just do it on their own.

The issue I'm noticing is that the runner is just to fragile at the line of scrimmage. My RB continuously gets knocked back and down at the line. Even on protecting the ball, he's just too fragile.

I'm always iffy to do that move anyway. It's such an instant command that could at least be put toward another face button, not the same one which has you change hands with the ball carrier.
