"Season Mode"

So i just did a quick search for this and found only one thread which was made prior to the game actually coming out, and it didnt have much good info. I just want to know what the season mode is like. Free agents, draft, player progression and retirement, trades, etc... There doesnt seem to be much info on this out there right now. I'm still on the fence about whether to buy the game or not, and the fear of an APF 2k8 style season mode is mainly what has kept me from getting the game up to now.

Re: "Season Mode"

You only acquire new players through a draft at the end of the season, players are ageless and there's no injuries or fatigue or retirements so there's little reason to have depth. There is no free agency, contracts, and I don't think players even progress.

Make no assumptions, anything not mentioned in this video is not in the game - http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/01/ba...on-game-modes/

Of all the features you mentioned, only the draft is in season mode.

Re: "Season Mode"

For me season mode is fun with my 16 team created team league, but I wish there was trades and free agency. For instance, Las Vegas has this amazing linebacker that always destroys me, but they have terrible RB's. I have like 3 solid RB's, so it would have been nice to be able to try and trade for him.

Also, the lack of Player Progression/Regression is a bummer, but I still am having a lot of fun playing.

The season mode is about as fun as you want it to be, you could get into it and look at the league leaders (which is cool, but a lot of the QB stats are crazy) and standings and try to get to know your league, which can help make the mode seem less barren.

Re: "Season Mode"

The limited franchise mode here only held me about as long as APF did. In any sports game, I like to sim the first year while I rebuild my team. BB has no option (that I can find) to sim games at all, so I got bored pretty quickly. It does leave me high hopes for BB2 though. They really did some things very well here.

loving the demo as a fresh take on console football.
this might tide me over [along with APF] till a madden franchise mode redo.
