Re: Backbreaker: Vengeance Impressions (360)

Just went back and played the original Tackle Alley in Backbreaker 1 to refresh my memory.

Man what a difference!

I cannot believe how much better Vengeance is than the original Tackle Alley. Do not discount this game because of the original, because it stomps all over it.

On the other hand, if you liked the first Tackle Alley, you will love the improvements in this one!

Re: Backbreaker: Vengeance Impressions (360)

I wish we had captured the play earlier today in Supremacy where jaosming tried to hurdle me running head-on full speed but I tackled him airborne with the crown of my helmet and also took out the computer guy trailing behind him lol

This is my sports game of the year so far. All other sports game have been put on notice!

Saddens me to see so many people sleeping on this game.

Re: Backbreaker: Vengeance Impressions (360)

Played a bit more of Vengeance mode. At first I didn't like it because I wasn't playing it properly. But once I realized there is a path you're supposed to follow in each level, it becomes a lot of fun. Vengeance mode is definitely the "grower" of the three modes. Tackle Alley and Supremacy are much more accessible.

I'm a little over halfway through the game now: Cleared Supremacy mode. Made it to Vengeance challenge 13, and Tackle Alley challenge 13.

This game gets incredibly hard in the second half of Vengeance and Tackle Alley, but I love a game that plays rough!

I also discovered that the developers named the character whom you tackle in Vengeance mode "Jackaus."

This makes it even more satisfying everytime you hit him with an Ultimate Warrior flying clothesline or rack him on a barricade and take away his ability to reproduce.

Re: Backbreaker: Vengeance Impressions (360)

Screw the reviews! Every person I've talked to who's actually bought this game is having a blast with it.

lol at the OXM review's claims of "doesn't take advantage of the Euphoria engine" and "cheap cash in of the iPhone version."

The iPhone version doesn't even use Euphoria! It's run on a completely separate gameplay engine (Endorphin), and all of its animations are prescripted/canned. There are no physics in the iPhone version! iPhone version is also missing Supremacy mode, and even though they share Tackle Alley and Vengeance mode types, the actual levels in the two versions are completely different.
